Take the journey to Missouri for the 36th annual ROEE Conference. The site of the conference will be Camp Lakewood on the grounds of the YMCA of the Ozarks in Potosi (approx. 70 miles from St. Louis, MO). The Parkway School District and the YMCA of the Ozarks will co-host the conference for the fourth time in ROEE's history. Come enjoy the fresh country air and rekindle your ROEE friendships and love for the Ozarks. This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Julie Carlson from the University of Minnesota - Mankato. Dr. Carlson is author of Never Finished ... Just Begun: A Narrative History of L.B. Sharp and Outdoor Education.

The site of this year's conference is just a hop, skip, and a jump from downtown St. Louis in the Mark Twain National Forest. The staff of Parkway School District's Outdoor School Program and the YMCA of the Ozarks will be your co-hosts.

St. Louis, referred to as the Gateway to the West, is located on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. St. Louis is not only the site of the Gateway Arch, but is also the beginning of the Lewis and Clark expedition of 1804 to 1806. There are many sites to see in the St. Louis area including:

  • St. Louis Zoo
  • Missouri Botanical Garden
  • Forest Park
